Research progress of adhesives for maxillofacial prostheses

Abstract: Adhesive retention is one of the most important methods which used to retain the maxillofacial prostheses. The adhesive and biological properties are two major properties that maxillofacial prostheses have. This paper reviewed the progress on the study on the two major properties of maxillofacial adhesives. Considering that there is extensive application of maxillofacial prostheses adhesives in clinic, there should be further studies on the appraisal experiment standardization and the improvement of the properties.
