Abstract: Polymerization shrinkage is the primary negative characteristic of light - cured composite resins which used for cavity filling. The stress caused by shrinkage may have adverse clinical consequence such as postoperative sensitivity, micro- leakage, secondary caries. This review is meant to introduce the research progresses on the factors responsible for polymerization shrinkage stress and the methods of decreasing the stress in clinics.
