Reporter gene and its application in tooth development and tooth regeneration

Abstract: Reporter gene whose expression is easily detectable and therefore is used to report the expression and regulation of target gene. A multiplicity of reporter genes can be applied to diverse fields according to different purpose. As an effective technology, reporter gene has been used extensively in the studies of tooth development and tooth regeneration. It was helpful in studying the regulation and expression of genes, controlling study of transfection, as well as differentiation and orientation of cells. And it becomes a valuable tool in studies of mocular basis in tooth development which will provide foundamental knowledge to regeneration of tooth.
