Abstract: Periodontal ligament stem cell which can differentiate into osteoblasts, cementoblast-like cells, adipocytes, and collagen-forming cells is a new kind of seeds cell in periodontal tissue regeneration. Here we reported the research progress of periodontal ligament stem cells in biological characteristic, multi-directional differentiation, transplantation and its potential application in periodontal tissue regeneration.
