Abstract: As one of the three elements for tissue engineering, a proper scaffold makes a great sense of proliferation and differentiation of the seeding cells. In recent times, the research of improving scaffold is mostly directed towards developing smart scaffold materials. Compared to the traditional biomaterials, smart materials can induce the differentiation of cells and the deliver of growth factor more effectively. In this article, we will made a review for the research advances of smart materials for tissue engineering.
