Abstract:

Nickel- based alloys and cobalt- based alloys are widely used in dental clinical restoration. However, they may be corroded in oral circumstance over a long period of time, and the biological effect produced by long- term contact of metal ions released from erosion and tissue cells is worth taking into account. This paper summarizes the relationship between cobalt ion and human health as well as microbacteria.
