Abstract:

Lectins are proteins or glycoproteins that agglutinate cells, including microbial lectins, plant lectins and animal lectins. It has  extraordinary important applications in many fields. The review presents the investigations in recent years on microbial lectins in the fields of categories, characteristics and functions. Meanwhile, the researches on oral microbial lectins are narrated.
