Application of the homemade simple bite block in the oral clinical treatment

Abstract:

Objective To explore the effect of simple home-made bite block on mouth opening comfort level of dental out-patients during oral treatment. Methods 162 patients who visit department of stomatology of Chengdu Integrative Medicine Hospital were randomly divided into experimental group(84 patients) and control group(78 patients), and during oral treatment, the experimental group’s patients placed on a home-made simple bite block, and the control group’s patients did not place it. Questionnaire was applied and the result of mouth opening comfort level was recorded after treatment completed. Results The mouth opening comfort level of experimental group obviously priors to the control group(P<0.01). Conclusion Simple bite block could help to improve the dental patients’mouth opening comfort.
