Research progress on the temporarymandibular joint remodeling of the patients with mandibular retrusion by using Herbst appliance

Abstract: This article was to review the influence on the condylar, glenoid fossa and condylar position within the fossa of temporarymandibular joint(TMJ) in the treatment of Angle Ⅱ malocclusion patient with Herbst appliance, and to discuss the long-term effects of Herbst treatment. It is beneficial to clinicians to properly understand the relationship between Herbst appliance and TMJ remodeling, so as to better guide clinical application.
