Abstract: Oral cavity is a complex micro-ecological system, and there are about more than 700 kinds of bacteria in human oral. The interaction between a variety of bacteria contributed to the occurrence and development of dental caries. Most studies have shown that mother is the main source of infant caries, and with the depth study of oral flora, many data indicate that there are other forms of transmission, such as the father of transmission, the level of transmission. This article focused on the applications of different techniques of molecular biology at horizontal transmission of the oral bacterial communities between parent-child, and reviewed the influence of family oral health behavior to early childhood caries study.

Key words: child, oral bacterial communities, transmission, molecular method
