Application of Andrews′ six elements of orofacial harmony in profile esthetics

Abstract: Traditional orthodontic treatment often gives high priority to neutralizing inter-arch relationships, which is hard to predict if the esthetical soft tissue profile can be achieved. To make up to the flaws, Andrews posted six elements of orofacial harmony. With the help of the six elements of orofacial harmony, the harmony and longterm health potential of the orofacial complex were maximized. Andrews′ six elements of orofacial harmony is based on balanced position and relationship of the teeth and the jaws, which is complete and universal.
