Implantable drug delivery system of insulin

Abstract: Implantable drug delivery system, with the feature of slow release and long work time, is an effective route of administration for insulin comparing with oral and injectable administration. The purpose of the present paper is to review the research progresses in the implantable release drug delivery systems, types and character of implantable delivery systems of insulin and the feasibility of its new routes of administration through dental implant and root canal.
