Abstract: Autogenous tooth transplantation or autotransplantation, is the surgical movement of a tooth from one location in the mouth to another in the same individual. Although autotransplantation has not been established as a traditional means of replacing a missing tooth and the success is effected by many factors, many studies clearly demonstrate that autotransplantation of teeth should be considered as a excellent option for treatment of an edentulous space. The aim of this article was to summarize the relative factors of its prognosis. Criteria for success and the indications were also discussed.
