Abstract:

The maxillary sinus floor elevation is the effective way to resolve the inadequate bone height in the posterior region of the maxilla in order to promote stability of endosseous implants. In a long term, autogenous
bone from iliac bone is regarded as a“gold standard”, but pain and infection in donor site are often associated with bone grafting. The application of tissue engineering technique and growth factors have overcome the drawbacks
in traditional methods and have become a new advancement about sinus floor elevation. This is a review about the new advancement.
