Abstract: The means of the physical model is common used in scientific researches. Meanwhile, it has gone through the whole development of the cariology. Physical model of the caries is of general meaning in the etiology, pathology of caries and its affecting factors. In this article, it mainly refers to the artificial caries experiments, the microbial caries studies and the artificial mouth biofilm models, which play the important roles in the researches of the pathogenesis of caries.
