Research progress on sandblasting technique in the dental ceramic restorations

Abstract: Current dental ceramic materials offer excellent cosmetic result and biocompatibility for highly esthetic restorations. Well bonding technique is vital to the ceramic restoration, so clinical situations require different surface treatment technologies. Resin bonding can improve the bonding strength between the complete ceramic restoration and the supporting tooth structures, and at the same time improve the rupture strength of the complete
ceramic restoration. Sandblasting technique is an usual pre-bonding surface treatment technology, which can improve the bonding strength and have some effects on the fracture strength and the fitness of the ceramic restoration
simultaneously. This article presents a review on research progress of sandblasting technique to dental ceramics.
