Abstract: Objective To observe the clinical outcomes of autologous tooth transplantation(ATT). Methods Twenty-four patients whose first or second molar needed to be extracted and third molar could be extracted completely were subjected for ATT. The survival rate of transplanted third molar was observed, and the outcomes were analyzed considering age, gender and location. Results The survival rate of transplanted third molar was 87.5%(21/24). There was no differences between whatever age, gender and location. Conclusion ATT is proved to be an alternative treatment for dentition defect. Recently, the using of results from clinical researches in tooth transplantation and replantation do actively improve the clinical outcome of ATT. Aged people should not be excluded from ATT, because the age is not a definite negative fact of prognosis.
