Abstract:

The Stafne bone cavity is a rare bone defect that often occurs in the posterior part of the mandible. It is easily misdiagnosed as a jaw cyst or tumor, and patients receive unnecessary surgical treatment. This article reviews the etiology, clinical manifestations, and imaging features of Stafne bone cavity. It summarizes its typical imaging findings to introducing the diversity of its imaging performance and provides guidance for clinical diagnosis and treatment.

Key words: Stafne bone cavity, static bone cavity, image features, panoramic radiograph
