Abstract: Dental stem cell (DSC) is a type of stem cells that possess unique immunomodulation properties and can be effectively obtained from isolated dental or periodontal tissue. They exert immunosuppressive effects through direct contact or secretion of cytokines and play a key role in the proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis of T cells, B cells, and other lymphocytes. The treatment of a variety of chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases has a certain clinical significance. In this review, we summarize current studies on the immunomodulatory properties of several common DSCs.

Key words: dental stem cell, immunomodulation, stem cell therapy
