Research progress on polylactic acid post for the repairment of residual crown and root in deciduous teeth

Abstract: The deciduous teeth play an important role in the process of children’s growth and development. The residual crown and residual root of it is a key problem for clinical treatment, which can only be choosed to suit the processing or pull out. Along with the development of medical materials, the polylactic acid (PLA) is widely used in clinical treatment because of its good biocompatibility, excellent physical and chemical properties of the human body without poison, and can be degraded and excreted in the form of carbon dioxide and water. The application of PLA post for its repair provides a broad prospect. This article summarizes the physical and chemical properties, biocompatibility, indication and clinical application status of the PLA post.
