Clinical research progress on all-ceramic resin-bonded fixed partial dentures

Abstract: According to the concept of minimally invasive dentistry, resin-bonded partial dentures have been widely used for replacement of a missing tooth. The development of all-ceramic materials and adhesive techniques has facilitated the use of all-ceramic resin-bonded fixed partial dentures for partial edentulism. Such type of dentures has advantages of minimal invasiveness and aesthetics. All-ceramic resin-bonded fixed partial dentures possess a high short-term success rate when used in an appropriate way. However, the long-term clinical success rates remain uncertain. This article reviewed the clinical research progress on abutment selection, design, adhesive technique, and prognosis of all-ceramic resin-bonded fixed partial dentures.
