Clinical application of metal alar plate resin-bonded fixed partial denture

Abstract:

Metal alar plate resin-bonded fixed partial denture is a kind of resin-bonded fixed bridge, with a cast metal framework and a metal-fused porcelain pontic. Although metal alar plate is widely used in resin-bonded fixed partial denture, it has a short-term survival rate. The most common cause of failure is debonding, or specifically detaching or loosing. The high debonding rate has become the main constraint. Numerous factors influence the success rate. This study searched the literature and summarized the data on the influence of patient selection, design, and resin bonding on metal alar plate resin-bonded bridge to provide clinical guides.
