Research progress on the association between Porphyromonas gingivalis and cell autophagy

Abstract:

Autophagy is a lysosome dependent metabolic mechanism of eukaryotic cells, which is involved in the host defense progress against pathogen infection. Porphyromonas gingivalis(P. gingivalis) could invade the vascular endothelial cells and take advantage of autophagy to escape the clearance of the host, leading to the persistence and transmission of infection. The purpose of the article is to discuss the progress on the association between P. gingivalis and cell autophagy.
