Research progress of clinical application of thermochemotherapy of tumor

Abstract: A great number of randomized controlled clinical trials have definitely confirmed hyperthermia combined with chemotherapy as a novel clinical modality for the treatment of cancer. Hyperthermia combined with chemotherapy can cure malignant cancer efficiently not only because of the sum of thermal damage and chemotherapy-induced injury to the tumor cells, but also of their synergistic effect. That is to say that the explicit sensitizing effect of hyperthermia to chemotherapy can improve the effect of chemotherapy in cancer treatment. This article will review its clinical applications and researches of hyperthermia combined with chemotherapy.
